I discovered an interesting website http://www.psychologyofgames.com which has Psychologist's looking at video games from various aspects. So your traditional "do video games make you violent" to "how to parent kids with games", etc.. They have a podcast but it's rubbish compared to Daft Souls.
Of particular interest on their site is an article entitled "Anonymity and Antisocial Behavior"
A study on the behavior of children essentially gives the formula for why there are so many idiots/jerks in video games and forums.
"When you allow people to be a) anonymous, b) part of a group, and c) not responsible for their actions, then you get more antisocial behavior. As the guys at Penny Arcade accurately (if vulgarly) put it:
Normal Person + Anonymity + Audience = Total F**kwad."
Given CoolGhost.net's lengths to ensure jerks don't join this forum and Matt's background in Psychology, I thought this could be of particular interest for us to discuss.
